Art Shows in Wyoming

Taking down my show at ART 321 in Casper today and getting ready for the Quick Draws at the Jackson Hole Art Festival andart shows in Wyoming. What a great state to live in. Wyoming is the least populated state in the US with around 500,000. and I bet we have more artist per capita th Buffalo Bill Art Show in Cody Wy. September is a busy month for an any other. GO WYO!

''CLOUD DANCER'' new bronze sculpture H-19'' L-10'' price $1900. This sculpture shows an eagle flying through clouds. I created the clouds in a loose impressionistic abstract s design. The eagle is represented in detailed realism. Combining the two contrasting styles makes the composition more dynamic.

Inspirational talk to 90 inmates

I went to Newcastle WY and gave a slide show and inspirational talk to 90 inmates at the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp & Boot Camp about my life and career as an artist. a couple of weeks ago. I shared the challenges, struggles and rewards I have faced chasing my dream of becoming a professional artist. There were many inmates who create art in there and they asked me to critique their work. I received a letter from one of them thanking me for taking the time and sharing my story. Thanks for the letter it was appreciated.

 this is a video I created with Justin Pehrson on my bronze sculpture of the Sundance ritual. I set the bronze on fire to give a more dramatic effect. I also wanted to show what a tough durable medium bronze is. After cleaning off the accelerant the sculpture and patina was not damaged. '' THE GOSSIPS''  bronze
 The gossips was inspired by watching my horses in the pasture and seeing magpies walking up and down on their backs. To tell a good story you need interaction and conflict. I have a large bull moose looking back over his shoulder and eyeing two squawking magpies sitting on his rump. It's bad enough when others gossip about you behind your back but on your back!

IN THE SHADOWS OF THE ANCIENTS
In The Shadow of the Ancients a large bull buffalo stands next to a rock wall with Native American pictographs depicting many generations of his ancestors roaming over the plains. He is standing in the shadow of his ancestors. The rock formation symbolizes his shadow which is also in the abstract shape of a buffalo.

Sculpture in the Park in Loveland CO Aug 8-9.

I will be showing at the largest sculpture show in the country with over 160 artists at Sculpture in the Park in Loveland CO Aug 8-9. I have been showing my work in Loveland since 1987. There will be over 2000 sculptures on display.I have enclosed some of the work that will be there. It really is something to see if you are in the area. Hope to see you there.
