A good title adds another layer to the story and deepens the connection to the artwork

A good title adds another layer to the story and deepens the connection to the artwork. Here are example of titles that enhance the story see if you can match them to the sculpture.
1.       HOME WRECKER
2.       I SHALL FEAR NO EVIL
3.       IN THE SHADOW OF THE ANCIENTS

A title is another tool to help enhance the story like using composition design movement and line.

When creating art, I want to tell a story with my sculptures. I think about my titles a great deal to help enhance the story of the sculpture. There are times when I come up with the title first. Then create the sculpture to interpret the title. A title is another tool to help enhance the story like using composition design movement and line. A good title adds another layer to the story and deepens the connection to the artwork.

Never give up, and do not take “No” for an answer. Believe in yourself when no one else does

I have been making my living following my dream of being an artist for over 32 years and my advice is to never give up, and do not take “No” for an answer. Believe in yourself when no one else does. Do not be afraid of failure or of being knocked down. Just keep getting up and do the best that you can with what’s in front of you.

Seeing Harry Jackson’s Two Champs sculpture all those years ago made me want to become a sculptor.

I was 23 years old when I saw a bronze by Wyoming sculptor Harry Jackson.Seeing Harry Jackson’s Two Champs sculpture all those years ago made me want to become a sculptor. It lit a spark in me that still burns today. When others look at my life’s work, I hope it will light a spark in them to be inspired to follow their dreams.

‘’LAND OF THE FREE’’ by Chris Navarro

 bronze sculpture H-16’’ L-23’’ W-5’’  price 2400.
I have created this sculpture to show my love for this great country and wanted to express my pride and feelings about being an American.  Like every country, we have our share of problems and conflicts. However, after extensive travel and living abroad, I have not found a better place in which to live, work and raise my family. The opportunities and freedom to spread our wings and follow our personal beliefs and dreams are endless in the United States of America and is only limited by our efforts and desire to pursue them.
In this land of the free, we have the right and privilege to vote for the political candidates of our choice, to worship the Creator in the manner of our liking, and to enjoy the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I want my sculpture to honor this great land and pay tribute to the men and women who are brave enough to have fought, and continue to fight, for those freedoms. - Chris Navarro

ESSCENCE OF REX by Chris Navarro Monumental Bronze, 13.5’ x 28’ x 7’ This sculpture is a life-size Tyrannosaurus rex. One side is skeletal while the other side is “fleshed out.” LED lights illuminate the piece from within, and the light radiating outward gives the sculpture a special effect. To bring it to life and to create that “wow” factor, I had to inject emotion into Rex. The sculpture is located at the entrance to the Tate Geological Museum in Casper, Wyoming. www.chrisnavarro.com

Knowing my work will be standing in the sun long after I’m gone for future generations to experience and enjoy is extremely rewarding.

Bronze metal is such a strong, durable, and permanent medium it will last for centuries. All artist want to live on in their work. Knowing my work will be standing in the sun long after I’m gone for future generations to experience and enjoy is extremely rewarding.
Because when it’s all said and done, I don’t think it’s about how many years you have lived in this world, but rather what you leave behind that truly matters. chrisnavarro.com

Just kidding! It is a great honor and a total surprise to receive this award if you would of told me I would be honored by CC 44 years later I would say you got to be kidding! You never know where the forks in the roads of life will take you. Just follow your heart and do the best you can, that is all I really did. Casper College alumnus thank you. Chris Navarro

Casper College alumnus Chris Navarro will receive the Casper College Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Award for 2018

Last night I went to the CC President's Reception being held in honor of being selected as the Casper College Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Award for 2018. I was asked to speak about what CC has meant to me. I attended Casper College 1974-1976 and CC is what brought me to Casper I was 18 when I drove from San Antonio, TX to Casper WY in an old Plymouth I bought for $250. With everything I owned in the trunk. I had never been to and did not know one person who lived in Wyoming. I was going to college but what I really wanted was to be a bull rider. I love Wyoming and have made my home in Casper ever since.I feel blessed to have worked and raised my family here. It is a honor and a total surprise to receive this award if you would of told me I would be honored by CC 44 years later I would say no way, really!

The most worthwhile aspect about art is seeing what’s in someone else’s heart.

Sculpting is what I do for a living, and I don’t plan on retiring. It’s what I truly love, and I hope others can see this through the works I have created, because the most worthwhile aspect about art is seeing what’s in someone else’s heart. chrisnavarro.com ''SACRED HEART OF JESUS'' & ''ANGEL HEART

I have been extremely fortunate to make a living with my art for the last 32 years.

I have been extremely fortunate to make a living with my art for the last 32 years. I was 23 and did not have much going for me when I started sculpting. I had no money or formal training in art. What I did have was a lot of confidence and ignorance. chrisnavarro.com

Michelangelo is the greatest artist who has ever lived.

To me, Michelangelo is the greatest artist who has ever lived. He passed away in 1564 at age 89. At that time, the average Italian man had a life expectancy of 43 years. I believe the reason for Michelangelo’s long and productive life is that he awoke every day with a passion and a purpose, and this is the way that I choose to live my own life.  I see no downside to that philosophy.
