My bronze sculpture ‘’ECLIPSE’’ Height 22’’ will be on display at Art 321 Casper Artists' Guild Art gallery 321 W Midwest Ave, Casper, WY and is open 10AM–4PM. They are having an art show to celebrate the Summer of the Eclipse. Works of art inspired by outer space, the sky or the eclipse will be featured through September 1,2017 if you are in the area stop by and see the show.

Wyoming artists Chris Navarro and Brandon Bailey set a new record price at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Art Show Auction.

Wyoming artists Chris Navarro and Brandon Bailey set a new record price at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Art Show Auction on July 20, 2017 with their collaborative bronze and oil paintings art piece titled, ‘’HECK OF A HECK OF A WRECK’’. The sculptych H- 34’’ L- 102’’ W – 16’’ sold for $19,500.

The 37th Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show opens July 20,at the Old West Museum. The artists featured in the CFD Western Art Show celebrate the heritage of the American West and are some of the county’s top western and wildlife artists, using mediums from painting and etchings, to bronze and wood sculptures.  All artwork will be on display through August 20, 2017. Steamboat was voted champion bronc in 1906 & 1907 Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Off to Cheyenne Frontier Days for the next few days for the Art Show. There is a lot of rodeo history at the Daddy. Their first rodeo was in 1897. My favorite bucking horse Steamboat was voted champion bronc in 1906 & 1907 Cheyenne Frontier Days. Born in 1896 near Chugwater, Wyoming, Steamboat was widely considered among the best bucking broncos in rodeo history. Nicknamed “the horse that couldn’t be ridden”, the black gelding was christened Steamboat as a colt he sustained a broken bone in his nose that caused him to make a whistling sound when he bucked and that is why the cowboys gave him the name Steamboat. The old-time cowboys said the horse would buck his heart out and wouldn’t quit. Steamboat died in 1914 and was later immortalized with the legendary bucking horse and rider symbol. Since then, he has been inducted into the Professional Rodeo Hall of Fame, the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and even represented Wyoming on the commemorative state quarter and our license plates. You can’t think of Wyoming and not think of Steamboat.
In my monument to Steamboat I wanted to show the determination and spirit of both the horse and the rider in a contest of one man against one horse. In the early days of rodeo to make a qualified ride a cowboy had to stay aboard his horse until it came to a standstill. The rider was not allowed to pull leather or grab any portion of the saddle. He could fan the horse with his hat which dressed the ride up and made the horse buck harder. chrisnavarro.com

My Champion Lane Frost monument is at the Old West Museum and I will be showing my work at the 37th Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show with opening reception and art auction Thursday starting at 3 pm, July 20, 2017 at the Old West Museum. The artists featured in the CFD Western Art Show celebrate the heritage of the American West and are some of the county’s top western and wildlife artists, using mediums from painting and etchings, to bronze and wood sculptures.  I have included some work I will have at the show hope to see you there.

This is a sculpture I did at the quickdraw in Jackson Hole Art festival ''FAST Food''. When I was working on the sculpture a lady asked me if the wolf got the rabbit. I told her no the rabbit gets a way she said how do you know. I said the wolf is running for his dinner the rabbit is running for his life!

Sculptych - which is a work of art incorporating a sculpture and paintings that is multi-dimensional multimedia divided into three sections constructing a narrative, like the frames of a film to tell a story.

Yesterday Brandon and I placed our sculptych in the Old West Museum in Cheyenne WY. 
The 37th Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show committee asked artist to collaborate on a work of art to place in their live auction Thursday, July 20, 2017. My good friend and fellow artist Brandon Bailey and I decided to participate. We wanted to create something unique and creative coming up with the idea to incorporate a bronze sculpture and two painting into a work of art. So, we created the very first.  I created the word to describe the project and searched the internet to see if it existed in any form and could find no example of it. The art piece we came up with is ‘’HECK OF A HECK OF A WRECK’’. H - 34'' L- 102'' W - 16'' My bronze sculpture ‘’HECK OF A WRECK’’ was incorporated in the middle of the sculptyck with Brandon who did a great job painting the two paintings and bronze on each side of the sculpture. The bronze sculpture was patinaed and partially painted so all three pieces matched. I believe this is the first time a sculptyck has been created. What do you think?– Chris Navarro
