THE CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS WESTERN ART SHOW started last night they had a benefit auction for the Old West Museum. My bronze sculpture Champion Lane Frost height 38’’ was auctioned and brought a record $15,000. Champion Lane Frost was my first large public monument I created 23 years ago and it will always have a special place in my heart. Champion Lane Frost is located at Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum Cheyenne WY. This is a quote by Lane Frost that has a power that speaks a simple truth.

We are looking for a male model for my upcoming sculpture workshop in Casper, WY.THE HUMAN FIGURE SCULPTURE 3 DAY WORKSHOP August 10, 11, 12, 2016. The model will be paid $300. For the 3 day workshop total of about 5 to 6 hours per day looking for a lean body type if anyone is interested

Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show

Heading to Cheyenne Frontier Days for the Western Art Show have the preview tonight with the reception tomorrow. It is always good to go to Frontier Days. I placed my first public monument Champion Lane Frost there 23 years a go. If you go to Cheyenne in the next 2 weeks stop by the Old West Museum and see the show. There will be some great western art to see.

It is important to remember every expert was a beginner at some time.  So the most important thing to bring to this class is a hungry mind, the desire to sculpt and a positive attitude.  We will study armature construction, anatomical proportion, composition, design and gesture.  We will also look for that hidden spark that brings the essence of life into our own work.  Working with oil base clay and using live models we will sculpt a male figure.   On the last day of the workshop the class will be taken on a personal tour of ‘’EMBRACE THE STRUGGLE’’ The bronze art of Chris Navarro a one man show with over 60 bronze sculptures at the Nicolaysen Art Museum Casper WY. The Casper Art Walk will be this Thursday I will be at my Bronze sculpture art show’ ’EMBRACE THE STRUGGLE ‘’ at the Nicolaysen Art Museum from 6-8pm. I will be signing my new book Embrace The Struggle .There are only a few weeks left to see the show and it is free admission during the art walk. Hope to see you there so get out and do something fun! There will be over 20 events on the art walk to see photography, art exhibitions, live music, author talks, movie screenings, food, booze and more. The downtown galleries plan to hold art walks on the first Thursday of every month. It just a great way to get the community involved in the arts and give artists a place to show what they are working on. cnavarroart.com

I'm at the Hospital....today was not a good day.

I'm at the Hospital....today was not a good day. I decided to try a new horse out.  It turned out to be a big mistake. I got on the horse and he started off slow but then he went a little faster and before I knew it we were going as fast as a horse could go. I couldn't get him to stop so I decided to jump off of him and when I did I caught my foot in the stirrup and the horse started dragging me. Thank goodness, the store manager at Wal-Mart came out and unplugged the machine and saved me. How many of you actually read what I wrote? If you did, copy and paste for someone else to get a good laugh
