Art making is mostly a product of hard work.

Art making is mostly a product of hard work. Living life productively, if you do not live your life productively nothing will save your artwork, not even talent. It is more important be productive than creative. If you are productive the creativity will take care of itself.

'' Angel Heart''

I can assure you what is in my heart is no different than what is in your heart. If you believe that other people are like yourself than you hold the key to making art that matters.'' Angel Heart''

''GET BACK ON''

We all suffer setbacks from time to time; it is the way we react to them that counts. ''GET BACK ON'' bronze.

Creating art is not a spectator sport.

Find a way to live your life so that you can have the time to engage your art. The only way you get better at making art is to spend the hours and effort with the materials in your hands. Creating art is not a spectator sport. You get better by doing it.

The best feeling as an artist is when you have worked as hard as you can doing something difficult and you finish it completely spent.

‘’COLD BEANS AND A WET SADDLE’’ When titling my work I hope to enhance the story of the sculpture

‘’COLD BEANS AND A WET SADDLE’’ When titling my work I hope to enhance the story of the sculpture. There are times when I come up with the title first. Then create the sculpture to interpret the title. When looking for ideas to create new sculptures I try to use all the tools that are available.

There is nothing worthwhile in life that is not hard to get.

There is nothing worthwhile in life that is not hard to get. There is little value in easy perfection reached by many.

I have never put limitations on myself or the subject matter I create.

I have never put limitations on myself or the subject matter I create. I have made a great deal of what is called western art. That is work I have a passion and knowledge of because I have been a horseman and cowboy all of my life. However I have created a great amount of art that does not fit in that genre. I like to create inspirational and spiritual works also. In creating sculpture I never want to put limits or labels on my subject matter; the most important thing is it must excite and challenge me.

''IN THE SHADOWS OF THE ANCIENTS''

Just as early man made images on cave walls we all have an inherited need to express ourselves.
