‘'CAT PLAY’’

‘'CAT PLAY’’ by Chris Navarro  I was commissioned by a humane society in Denver, CO to create a dog and cat sculpture to inspire dog and cat adoptions. They placed this bronze at the entry and I wanted to put people in a fun and good mood. Hopefully it made a difference and a few more adoptions happened. ‘’Salmon Dreams’’

‘’Salmon Dreams’’ by Chris Navarro special commission for a collector with a beautiful gated entry to his home, and he wanted two grizzly bears guarding his property. However, the bears have fallen asleep on the job. I always create a maquette of the monument to first work out my design and composition. In the small-scale model, I chose to tell the story of the bears in a dream state. But, I wondered, what do bears dream of? Why not salmon, one of their favorite foods? So, I placed salmon, swimming, around the square sculpture base, giving it a surrealistic quality. Monumental Bronze, 32’’ x 70’’ x 38’’ $36,000.ea table top bronze , 9’’ x 5’’ x 5’’ $1450.

‘’ST. ANTHONY'S JOY’'

‘’ST. ANTHONY'S JOY’’ I created this sculpture for Saint Anthony's School and Parish in Casper, Wyoming. When I researched the artists that had depicted St. Anthony in the past, they always portrayed him holding baby Jesus, the bible, and white lilies in his arms. I wanted my interpretation of St. Anthony with the Christ-child to reflect one of the simple pleasures in life that I have shared with my children. Nothing is more heartwarming than watching a smile grow into an expression of pure joy as a child is tossed into the air. Bronze, 96’’ x 44’’ x 38.5’’$ 45,000. Table top H-15’’ x 7’’ $1500. chrisnavarro.com

CLIMB AS HIGH AS YOUR DREAMS

CLIMB AS HIGH AS YOUR DREAMS (relief) Bronze, 36’’ x 10’’ x 1.5’’Monumental Bronze, 109’’ x 32’’ x 32’’The difference between the ground and the heights one achieves will only be limited by one's desire, for nothing in this world is impossible to a willing heart. The overall abstract design of this sculpture is in the shape of a flame, which represents the desire that burns in man. Inside the rock crevice, a man, strong in mind and body with determination, struggles to pull himself up through a difficult passage in order to reach the top. He is alone, free climbing without the security of ropes. At this point in his life, his fate is literally in his own hands. He must trust in his ability to climb higher, because only with self-discipline and belief will he be able to reach the top. chrisnavarro.com

AUTUMN'S CHALLENGE by Chris Navarro - Bull elk will sound their bugle or whistle call during the rutting season. The bugle serves as a challenge to other bulls and the signal of domination over cows. Bronze, 25.5’’ x 25’’ x 10’’ $4800. Monumental Bronze, 9’ x 9.5’ x 9 ‘ $68,000. chrisnavarro.com

COLD BEANS AND A WET SADDLE

COLD BEANS AND A WET SADDLE This sculpture depicts the unglamorous side of being a cowboy. Working outside in miserable weather and pushing through to finish a job. It has been pouring cold rain all day long. The cowboy and his horse are covered with mud when they stop for a bite to eat. With no shelter from the rain, the cowboy knows it is too wet to start a fire, so he reaches into his saddlebags for a can of beans. Sitting on a rock, he makes the best of what he has. With cold beans in his belly, he’ll swing back into his wet saddle and finish the job he has set out to do. That is the cowboy way. chrisnavarro.com

‘’DOUBLE RANK’’

‘’DOUBLE RANK’’ this sculpture won the Calgary Stampede bronze trophy competition. My sculpture, along with $100,000. will be presented to the champion bull rider for the next five years at the Calgary Stampede. Bull riding has always been a big passion in my life. I rode bulls for 5 years and my son JC rode bulls professionally in the PBR. Riding bulls and creating art are similar in nature. To give your very best you must put your heart and soul into it.
