''TO THE STARS'' bronze sculpture I created in memory of Columbia Commander Rick Husband.
In honor of NASA's Day of Remembrance...
Exploration has its dangers, as when our pioneers traveled west into unknown Indian territory, or in facing the harsh cold temps of the North & South pole regions or high mountaintops, or diving deep into the depths of the oceans... & none more so than being strapped to a big fiery rocket to be launched into space. This time of year we commemorate the brave astronauts of Apollo 1, the Challenger Shuttle, & the Columbia Shuttle who died tragically in their endeavors to reach for the stars. May their memories & drive to explore the final frontier never be forgotten!
