Creating art is not a spectator sport.

Find a way to live your life so that you can have the time to engage your art. The only way you get better at making art is to spend the hours and effort with the materials in your hands. Creating art is not a spectator sport. You get better by doing it.

I have never put limitations on myself or the subject matter I create.

I have never put limitations on myself or the subject matter I create. I have made a great deal of what is called western art. That is work I have a passion and knowledge of because I have been a horseman and cowboy all of my life. However I have created a great amount of art that does not fit in that genre. I like to create inspirational and spiritual works also. In creating sculpture I never want to put limits or labels on my subject matter; the most important thing is it must excite and challenge me.
